Bringing a new range of qualifications to the agricultural industry
With a range of new agricultural qualifications now on offer, City & Guilds will be exhibiting at the Midlands Machinery Show for the very first time to showcase what they can offer the agricultural industry with their land-based accreditation.
Working with government departments and regulators, City & Guilds provides recognised qualifications – such as CPDs and T Levels – across a range of industries, including agriculture and land-based engineering.
“We’re very excited to be exhibiting at the Midlands Machinery Show for the first time,” says Jackie Hough, Land-Based Industry Manager at City & Guilds. “We’re looking forward to meeting with different organisations and the general public and showing them what we can offer to the industry in terms of certified qualifications.”
At the show, Jackie and her associate team will be showcasing newly launched CPD qualifications key to the land industry, and how these can support farmers and those in the agricultural sector in their business.
“A lot of people are now asking for evidence of a CPD qualification to say that they can do what they’re tendering for. They also want to see that the individual has got a CPD log as evidence of maintaining that current skill set,” says Jackie.
“That’s the type of conversation I usually have at events like the Midlands Machinery Show, where people want to be able to evidence that they are staying completely up to date in their industry area.”
City & Guilds have recently extended their suite of CPD qualifications with the launch of their new certification in the handling of chainsaws in the land-based industries.
“This is a really good addition to our portfolio, and it has been very well received by people in the industry,” says Jackie.
Another new qualification now offered by City & Guilds is a suite of CPDs covering pesticides.
“This has been a qualification that has been long awaited by people in the industry and now it’s out there finally,” says Jackie. “We also have a range of future qualifications in development that we’re excited about, and hopefully they will come out to the market soon.”
The Midlands Machinery Show presented itself as a great opportunity for Jackie and her team to not only showcase what City & Guilds are offering to the industry, but also for her to expand her network and meet with new people and organisations from across the industry.
“I’m always looking to expand the network of people that I work with in the land-based industries, especially in land-based engineering, and the Midlands Machinery Show was recommended to me as a great opportunity for me to do exactly that, and I’m looking forward to it.”
