Applications are now open for this year’s Midlands Agricultural Engineering Apprenticeship Awards, celebrating and supporting the next generation of agricultural engineers across the Midlands.
The Newark and Nottinghamshire Agricultural Society (NNAS) has launched this year’s Midlands Agricultural Engineering Apprenticeship Awards, inviting applications from young people taking their first steps into one of the industry’s most important and fast-evolving careers.
The awards provide practical financial support for agricultural engineering apprentices aged 17 to 25 who are currently working and/or studying with an agricultural machinery business based in the Midlands. Successful applicants will be selected by a panel of NNAS judges and will receive a total grant of £500 over a two-year period.
The initiative forms part of the Society’s charitable objectives to promote, celebrate and champion agriculture and related industries, while helping young people access the tools, training and opportunities they need to build long-term careers in the sector.
“Agricultural engineering is central to the future of farming, and the Society is proud to continue investing in the young people who will help drive the industry forward,” said Elizabeth Halsall, Events and Development Manager at NNAS. “These awards reflect our ongoing commitment to supporting skills, confidence and opportunity across the sector, ensuring talented apprentices have the encouragement and practical backing they need at the start of their careers.”
Applications are open to apprentices aged 17 to 25 who are working and/or studying within an agricultural machinery business based in the Midlands. Further information about the awards, including the selection criteria and application process, is available at https://newarkandnotts.com/apprenticeship-award.
The closing date for applications is Friday 16 October. Winners will be invited to a special awards ceremony at Newark Showground on Saturday 7 November, coinciding with the Newark Vintage Tractor and Heritage Show.
